Martha, Jesse and John equal the good old boy network? Right wingers? Labels are so bad and so misleading. These three individuals do not represent the right wing or any network. They do however share common goals. These goals are to move Brattleboro forward in a positive and respectful manner, provide diversity of thought, tolerance of viewpoints other than their own all through the open-mindedness needed to move Brattleboro forward. Martha O'Connor and I have been on opposite sides of many political issues and in our support of various candidates. While I may not always agree with Martha, I certainly respect and like her for many reasons. I respect her dedicated and selfless service to numerous organizations not only in Brattleboro, but throughout the state. Service so admired by others that the prestigious Martha O'Connor award is given in her name each year to a person giving outstanding service to education in the state of Vermont.
The past is over and Obama is the future
You have to take care of them, educate them, have health care and some kind of job opportunity for them once they are here. That’s where the Democrats come in. It’s time for a monolithic change in this country and it won’t come from any Reagan wannabes. The past is over, Obama is the future. Gary Shepherd Springfield Many factors contribute to a person’s homelessness In response to Jere Scott from Jacksonville: Maybe he doesn’t realize that most of those who are homeless did not get there overnight. It was a slippery slope that some couldn’t control. They may have lost a job or been laid off. They may have been kicked out of their homes, for one reason or another, and had no money to move somewhere else.
How science could soon be manipulating our choice of food
Soon there will be face-reading technology and smart spoons that measure the speed at which you are eating. In a locked control room along the corridor, three of the 20 analysts, psychologists and technicians involved in the project sit at banks of screens, watching, watching, watching. If you don’t like your mayonnaise and chips, they will notice and understand why before you do. From the country that gave us Big Brother, this is Big Brother run by Clever People with White Coats and Clipboards. It’s terrifying. The Dutchman playing tricks with my mind is Rene Koster, director of the project, who is about to begin the most extensive experiment on our subconscious attitude to food. As he explains, you can’t just ask us why we eat what we eat because we simply don’t know.
ESPN's Berman On The Game
No costly penalties. No blown assignments in the secondary. No missed tackles in the open field. Excellent coverage by the special teams. Hit Brady, early and often, on every passing play. Make him move his feet a lot. When the Giants took an early lead against the Patriots in the last game of the regular season, they had the star quarterback looking in both directions like a dog on a highway. Pound Randy Moss, Wes Welker and other Patriot receivers. Make them hear footsteps so they're reluctant to go over the middle in the fourth quarter. Employ short passes and a punishing ground attack to control the clock and keep Brady & Co. off the field. Play a 60-minute game. The Baltimore Ravens, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Giants themselves all played tough against New England during the regular season and had images of upsets dancing in their heads.
